What is the power saving mode?

The Power/Data Save Mode reduces the frequency at which Palringo checks its connection with our server. This both reduces data usage and conserves battery power (on a mobile phone or laptop). On the downside an interruption in the connection may not be detected for up to 5 minutes and new messages will not be received until the connection is re-established. The effect of this option varies from device to device.

If you are experiencing connection problems disabling this can help. Many devices can do this without a dramatic impact on the battery life or data usage. Others are not so lucky so if you do disable this option please be aware that Palringo may drain your battery much faster and data usage will be slightly higher.

This is not available on the iPhone or iPod Touch.
