Problems after update

We are hoping to release another update soon to correct a problem that can cause Palringo to 'force close' after trying to log in. We will have a look at the above issues and try to include a fix at the same time.

This would be great. Had some problems with force close bugs, too. But what is most annoying is that the scroll-speed of the contacts list has become ridiculously slow!!! I have about 100 contacts in my list. The first few lines scroll quite smooth but then it hangs, nearly blocking the whole application. Eventually the list skips to another position while scrolling but as it is right now, scrolling the list is far from usable. It was way better in the previous version.

I want to conclude with the things i noticed with the latest version of Palringo:

• force closes (see first post)
• VERY slow contact list scrolling
• "Add service" lists "Gtalk" twice. Maybe one is the generic XMPP service? Because this one is actually missing...

On the other hand, running as background app really seems to have improved. :-D *thumbsup*

Hi all.

I was dealing with the "force close" bug after login for a couple of days, waiting an update. Few minutes ago i downloaded the MAC version of the Parlingo client and add the MSN service from my computer, then i retried to login again from the HTC Magic (Vodafone Spain) and now is running out of problems. The rest of the services can be added via android client now.

Hope that this information helps somebody out there.

UPDATE: Same problems mentioned by marekk in the first post of this thread. No contact list when switching to another app and switching back to palringo, and, like in the first post, i can't see msgs arrived while idle. My phone is a Vodafone Spain HTC Magic w/o any kind of modification.

I updated tonight to 1.0b4. Contact list issue is gone since i can switch between apps, go to home screen, back again to palringo and the contact list is still there.Thanx guys, good job.

Related to the "force close" bug at login time i will install from the scratch to check it, but is supposed to be ok ;-).

In the other hand, sometimes (i can't figure why, it seems random to me) it makes me close the app, and sometimes too, but really often, when i go back to palringo from Home or other app, contact list is there, chat rooms are there, all the services appear as online, but at the bottom of the screen says "connecting" for a long time w/o any response, after a while it says connected but still appeearing ofline for others, i need to restart app in order to make it connect again.

All of this makes the user experience a little hard to deal with. I don't know why but i want this app and no other, UI is nice and comfortable, background feature is great, contact sorted by service is great 4 me too. Seems to be fast and i like sync with MAC client (and others).

In a few word: I like this app and you are in the good way. If i can help in anyway let me know, i'm ready to intensive testing if u want.

Glad to hear your major issues have been resolved and we'll keep working on it until it's perfect

Having the same issues as posted by sLoP, with the extremely slow (to the point of being unusable) contact list scrolling, and the occasional force close on connect.

On the app aTrackDog, Palringo is showing up as having an update to 1.05b... but there is no such application in the Market.

sideswipe i have been thinking the same,but sam said no update forthcoming when i asked recently!!

I'm not sure where aTrackDog got this 1.05b update from but it has not been submitted to the Market yet.

I am having a time with palringo loggin me out and I can't view my contacts lists. I sign out then back in and still nothing.

The Android version does contain alot of bugs and issues we are aware about. We are currently working on a new version at the moment. In the mean time try installing the latest version from our mobi site here.
