This is a great app and all, i got the latest beta (nov.13-09) and avatars are now only for premium users????? cmoon i had to go back to regular 2.0, ive been following all the betas and now i replaced the one before it, losing avatars.. palringo please put back avatars in the future beta releases.

We should be launching the premium accounts within a couple of weeks which will allow you to re-enable avatars and other features if you want to.

Pricing for the windows premium accounts will be the same pricing as the iPhone premium scheme. Thanks.

When it comes down to it, I will probably just pay for palringo again, but unless i'm missing something, I believe that it would have been better to have 1 program with all the features (rather than a premium and a light) and then limit features for accounts that haven't paid the upgrade fee. 

There are two reasons for me thinking this. 

Firstly, I have already paid for Premium on the iPhone, paying for premium on the PC seems to be double handling for services that are generally free. 

Secondly, If you are going to charge for the program and not charge to activate an account how are you going to prevent software being distributed outside of palringo.com?

There will be no need to pay twice, when it is launched there will be some method for existing iPhone premium customers to be granted a premium account.  The idea is that you'll only ever need to pay for the account, rather than the software - then whichever device you use in the future will automatically get the extra features.  We don't intend on making people pay twice for anything!
