Using a Nokia 6682, i enter my username/password and the application just sits in an endless "Connecting.../Reestablishing..." state. I have tried entering the username/password several times to eliminate any user-errors.

What could the issue be? I use other applications (google maps, opera browser, weather tracker, TellMe, etc..) on my mobile, so connection is not a problem.

Please help, I would like to try this app.

I am also facing the same problem, after giving the username and password, it says connecting and after sometime 'Reestablishing connection' and never gets connected.
My other apps that require data conn is working alright (eg:Morange).
I downloaded parlingo by visiting parlingo.mobi from my phone.
I am from Chennai, India and provider is Vodafone (Previously Hutch)

Please help.

This could be due to your access point using proxies. Some traffic is allowed and others are blocked. If you do a search of the internet you should be able to find out some information on your particular Network Operator and the access point configuration to use.

I am in Chennai India and Airtel is my service provider. Like others say, I just see "Connecting..." and "Reconnecting..."

Sorry for such late reply..
I am on AT&T's network in the San Francisco, CA. I would think its strange that AT&T would block this kind of traffic when we sign up for unlimited data access....

Thakns for your help!

They probably provide a connection that doesn't use a proxy for unlimited data access but it is also likely that they will still allow access via their WAP or similar connection. I've had a network operator send a configuration over the air that blocked Palringo but on changing the settings it worked. Who are we to question their strange ways Wink.

I tried the AT&T connection settings provided in one of the "sticky" thread, but that didnt work either. Are there any users in the SF Bay area who have succesfully connected to the AT&T's network. If so could someone share their configuration.

Hope this works.....

Cheers!

There are a number of PTT applications out on the net. I have had problems attempting to log in with all those I have tried. I wonder do any of these sites make money from connection charges?

Does anybody know how good the PTT function actually is? Is it walky talky like? I work for a small company and was wondering how the application would work in a professional environment...

Cheers

We don't make any money from network operator and the like when users connect.

The PTT feature of Palringo works very smoothly in my opinion and is much more flexible than a walky talky in many professional environments. You may be interested in the benefits of an Enterprise account (see here).

Hi Cosmin31,

What error message are you getting when you are trying to connect?
Are you signing in with the details you used to create your account @ www.palringo.com?
Are you able to access any other online content on your device?

I had the same problems with palringo. I have a k810i phone and the operator is Vodafone Romania. I can connect with opera, my phone browser, any other application can acess the internet. I have an unlimited data access plan so there is no problem with any proxy or something. On my windows vista sytem i can install and use palringo but not on my phone.. it loops at "you are being connected".

ET, the problem is since version 0.75, i can't login on since 0.75 and the same problem is in the plataform of BlackBerry,

Stays in "Logging In", and never connects, that is the problem since 0.75 java version.. in my case and the others users is since this new version of java plataform.

I'm having the same problem on my wife's LG Shine using AT&T in the USA. One thing I noticed, all other J2ME programs ask to use the data connection at start up but palringo does not. I suspect this is the problem.

I also can't connect. I have a Nokia 6275i and I'm using Telecom in New Zealand (access point details unknown). I enter my login details and it just sits on "connecting". I can connect using my iPod (wifi) so I know that the server is up and running, but I can't connect from my phone.
