I have location enabled and I see it check my GPS.  It shows the correct location within Palringo on my handset but none of my friends see my location.

How do I get it to show my location below my name in my friends contact list?

I have hunted and see no further settings for this.

I am using an android HTC Hero.

Thanks

In the settings menu there are options to allow contacts, groups or everyone to see your location. Is this option ticked?

This is where I am confused.  In the settings menu all I have is three notification settings,  1. Play sound  2. Vibrate  3. Blink LED.

There are no other setting.  Am I looking in the wrong settings?

Are you looking in the main settings for the program? Or the settings for the location? There are different settings menus.

Thanks for your help.  However, I think there might be an issue with the Android version.

There is only one settings menu and this is on the main Palringo tab.  It only has the three options as above.

I cannot see any other 'settings' in the program.

I have looked at this on the IPhone version and can access the needed settings.

I gave it a go but I will have to try anothr IM program.

Good Luck.

I agree with Paul, I cannot find any setting menu which controls a Location's visibility for contacts, groups, or everyone. The location feature appears completely nonfunctional on the Motorola Droid. The only option on the Location Menu is "Set Location Service Mode." Location is displayed in group chat, but clicking on it always responds, "Unknown location" regardless of the manual/automatic Service Mode. Edited by Logan at 12 Nov 2009 @ 14:35
