Feature requests

1. Notification bar - Should display a persistant icon to indicate Palringo is online or offline, should also display the current custom status text and how many new IM's we have, with maybe a preview of each one or something.

2. App needs to run as a service in the background

3. Custom status messages should set for all IM clients, not just Palringo

4. Each IM contact should have a Press and hold bubble with further info about that contact

5. Different icons for each client on contact screen so we know which client a contact belongs to and/or a way to sort the contact list by client

7. Settings meny on home screen by pressing MENU

8. Settings should have custom notification sounds choices like "Select Notification Sound" and "Vibrate" as a checkbox.

9. Avatar icons for each contact (maybe as a SETTINGS choice though)

10. Integration with other Google services on the Android platform like Latitude (For location), Gmail (send an email to a contact), Phone (Call a contact)

12. Change text description for this forum from "Support for Palringo on the Apple iPhone" to "Support for Palringo on the Google Android Platform". Just posted this one to see if you guys are paying attention. ;-)

I'd like to be able to see the Android/G1 tool/notification bar so I can see other alerts/notifiers, time, battery level, etc

13. Remove the 5 pixel border that's around the chat log in the chat and group windows.  Maximize screen real estate!

I want to love this app, but i cant. its WAY too buggy. theres no notification support, no photo/voice support, crashes CONSTANTLY, slow log on time, a lot of wasted space, battery hog and a half!

but its pretty lol >.<

Josh, it's ALPHA.... that means it's full of bugs. ;-) They have a ways to go... but I agree with you, it's very pretty already!

I am in complete agreement with the feature list requested ... especially having Palringo run as a service and using the notification bar. I am also seeing an issue where the contact list doesn't appear after a connection is made to a non Palringo service (yahoo, AIM, MSN).

Contact group support.

It would be nice if we could have freinds, family, co-workers and others grouped together. Of all IM clients I have used this is the only one that does not have this feature.

I also second the request for groups ... of course I really don't need groups too much since my contact list stays empty on the Android install, but has my 25 - 30 contacts on the PC version. The contacts began disappearing when I removed a palringo group, but perhaps it was just a coincidence. I may try to uninstall and reinstall and see what happens.

the tabs on the top are to big and wasting space..

Settings would be great, to set up own ringtones and vibration on/off. Auto-set to away after specific time (set by user).

History would be great..

Would be great if the notification in the statusbar would be configurable, like, notify only if new message is there or notify if the status changed, i.e. logged out/lost connection. I don“t want to see the notification all the time..

the ability to save pictures we're sent.Ā  Maybe either automatically to say a /Palringo/downloads folder, or a long-press and menu with a save option, or something.

The Save Picture feature should let you specify the save location in the as yet incomplete SETTINGS menu. ;-)
