Connecting with Alltel branded HTCs

There is a known issue with Palringo on several Alltel branded HTC handsets in the USA. Identical handsets that are not Alltel branded are able to connect so this seems to a very specific issue which we haven't yet been able to identify.

The problem affects 3G, GPRS and unusually WiFi so it is likely that this is related to the Alltel Firmware.

Some users have reported success after flashing their device with an unofficial ROM, e.g. those found at PPCGeeks. We do not offer support with this and it should only be attempted by advanced users at their own risk.
